Volunteer and make a difference
Volunteers are a much valued part of the MS Therapy Centre. We simply could not achieve the things we do without the support of our volunteer team.
They enable us to do so much more than would otherwise be possible, both at the Centre and at events.
Take a look at the many ways you can get involved.
As the first point of contact for members and visitors alike, our registration volunteers are friendly and approachable. As well as ‘meet and greet’ responsibilities, they also can provide general assistance to the Centre’s administration staff by taking lunch orders, answering the phone, photocopying etc.
Providing members, volunteers, visitors and staff with refreshments and helping with general non personal care such as assisting users with coats etc.
As a self-funding charity we need to work hard raising funds to support our services. We would be delighted to hear from you if you like making telephone calls! We need to approach schools, pubs, and community groups etc asking for support for the Centre through events and fundraising initiatives. Following up calls with emails/letters and updating responses to spreadsheet is also required.
Whether you want to run an event yourself or help at one of our existing events we simply could not run the Centre without support from people like you. All you need is enthusiasm, time and commitment to make a real difference to people with MS.
Become a speaker
If you have experience in public speaking or giving presentations, why not use your skills to help us raise the profile of the MS Therapy Centre to local community groups, schools and clubs? It is a challenge to fulfil the many speaking engagements that are offered to us each year and are keen to find more speakers to help us spread the word about our vital charity.
Collection box distributers
We are looking for volunteers with their own cars who would be willing to deliver and collect our collection boxes to local businesses.
Other ways to help
We are always keen to put our volunteers’ skills and experiences to good use. So if you feel that none of the roles above suit your particular skills but you would still like to help, please get in touch as we often have projects in progress that require specific knowledge.
